New Regional Transport Strategy adopted by Nestrans
The next regional transport strategy will take us through the next twenty years, up to 2040.
Following a two year process developing the next Regional Transport Strategy, the final documents were endorsed by the Minister for Transport on 5 November 2021 and formally adopted by the Nestrans Board at the meeting on 10 November 2021.
What happens now?
Now that the strategy has been formally adopted, a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) outlining how
the assessment findings and the comments received at the main consultation, both
of the plan and the Environmental Report, have been taken into account.
A post adoption statement will also be produced. Future reports on these, alongside the Delivery Plan and Monitoring and Evaluation will come before the Nestrans board meeting in December 2021.
You can keep up to date on the process via this website and on social media with #Nestrans2040.
